The simplicity of a single, intensive, two to three hour working session with laser-point questions producing immediate results, is central to what makes CoCreating Clarity a uniquely effective experience.
CoCreating Clarity is centered in relationship and communication between people — adults and teenagers of all backgrounds and in all walks of life. Where there is an opportunity, the best results happen in relationship and collaboration. Where there is an obstacle, the root cause almost always lies in the absence, avoidance, or breakdown of communication.
This seems to be universally true whether in International Relations, Businesses, Non-Profits, Communities, Centers of Faith, Schools, or in Families. It is also true for Individuals — men, women, and teenagers — of all cultures; in relationship with each other, and most important of all, in relationship with themselves.
Wherever you are, whatever the challenge you're facing: Team Building, Parenting, Collaboration, Decision-Making, Conflict Resolution, Cross-Cultural Bridging, Changes, Transitions, New Beginnings, Start-Ups, or Project Design, Planning & Implementation — whenever you are stuck or simply need a turbo-boost — CoCreating Clarity gets you moving and back on track for the results you want.
CoCreating Clarity works equally effectively with individuals, pairs, and small teams — both with adults and with teenagers. A CCC consult is typically conducted either in person or via video Skype, in both cases producing equally powerful results. When neither of these options is available, CCC consults are also conducted via telephone or audio Skype, with excellent results.
Yes and No! 'Yes' it would be a waste of time and money if you came to me unwillingly, or were 'sent' to me by someone else, perhaps in order to be 'fixed'; And 'No' because that wouldn't happen. I simply would not take you on! Except perhaps simply to explore and discover the reasons for your unwillingness. I would do that because you would find these results alone highly illuminating, leaving you with new and more productive choices. And besides, I'm always very curious about people, and just love a challenge!

You engage CoCreating Clarity only when you truly are ready to get down to work. The situation you are in has been worked around and around without satisfactory results. You want to find a better way through the swamp and out of it. You want some clarity.
Engaging CCC would be particularly sensible in a business, as going around in unproductive circles would be costing the company's bottom line dearly in revenue, time, and productivity; as well as in wasted energy, increasing frustration, and loss of goodwill — perhaps even with customers. What is in fact is already costing you, your team, and your company a great deal of time and money is the avoidance of reaching clarity.
With CoCreating Clarity, we cut through all the murkiness in just a few hours; and you leave with clear new options for action that you can take right away. In some instances you may leave with new clarity on why you are not taking the actions you already know you could take. Either way you leave unstuck, with renewed confidence and the freedom of choice to act. Whether you actually do or not is now entirely up to you.

Yes and No! Typically you engage a consultant for their particular area of expertise. Contracts are usually drawn up and signed, and often a long term commitment is made. After several days or weeks of consulting, beginning with a period of interviews and assessing the situation, you expect a consultant to give you expert advice on what is to be done.

While I do have serious expertise in several valuable methodologies, many of which I pioneered in the high-tech industry in the 80's and 90's, these do not take center stage. In CoCreating Clarity, the methods and tools are not the point. I do not come as an expert with ready answers drawn out of my tool box after an initial assessment. In fact I do not do an initial assessment.
CoCreating Clarity (CCC) starts with the powerful certainty that whatever is needed is already present in and amongst the people involved, and simply needs to be discovered. The clarity I bring as a seasoned Thinking Partner, along with the location — working in the clear space I invite you into — typically gets you going on what to do next, and with the renewed confidence to do it — in record time, usually half a day. And that's the end of the commitment. No contracts are needed. Follow-up consultation is optional, and offered if we agree it is needed.

Yes and No! Typically a coach works with you one-on-one over time to maximize your potential. Most often you would sign up for a minimum of eight to twelve one-hour coaching sessions. Through regular interactions with your coach, you work to gradually develop new habits and skills.

CoCreating Clarity does address issues working one-on-one with a single individual; and in addition works on issues of concern with pairs and small groups of people coming together to address a common challenge. You do not contract up-front for multiple sessions. We do the work in half a day, with follow-up session scheduled only if we agree they are needed.
From the start, we build on the foundational premise of innate wisdom and wholeness, along with the firm conviction that all the capacities needed are already available ... both within an individual and within the collective space of the small group. I therefore work with you, not to fix anything, nor to add on anything that is missing; but rather to identify and remove obstructions, in order to access all of the capacities you already have right here, right now.
My work with you is to clear the way to awareness, recognition, and application of these capacities; with a special focus on accessing that collective capacity which is far greater than the sum of the separate capacities of the individuals in the group. CoCreating Clarity can be extremely valuable as a complement to a person's existing commitment to on-going coaching. Just one CCC session would likely bring a laser-sharp focus to issues being surfaced in the regular coaching process, and a turbo-boost to their resolution.

Yes and No! Therapy is personal and private. A therapist typically supports you through a particular, very often difficult, situation and/or offers you remedial help to improve your functioning, in some dimension. Some therapists also work with couples and family systems. The way the work is done, it typically spans many weeks, months, and often years.

CoCreating Clarity is certainly conducted in complete confidentiality, and is extremely effective for individuals seeking personal clarity. In addition it is very effective with small groups of people in large corporations, small businesses, non-profits, communities, schools and in homes. CoCreating Clarity is equally effective with members of a senior leadership team at a Fortune 500 company as it is with a mother struggling with parenting her two teenage children at home.
You would engage CCC when you are ready to cut through the c**p, see things clearly for what they actually are (rather than the way they 'used to be', 'could be', or 'should be') and dig down to discover the underlying root causes of what is really keeping you stuck. And most importantly, we do a major chunk of the work in just a few intensive hours.
CCC can be a valuable complement to therapy. For instance, it is conceivable that a CCC consult results in a client reaching the clarity that they really need to seek the longer term support of a therapist. Conversely someone in long-term therapy may realize that what they need is a single laser-focused CCC consult to boost them out of a plateau or a comfortable but unproductive rut they have fallen into after years of familiarity with the therapist and/or their process.

Yes and No! Typically you engage a facilitator to guide you in the implementation of some process or methodology; or to lead and/or coordinate some area of work over time — sometimes days, and often weeks or months.
|
With CoCreating Clarity, the work is done in just a few very intensive hours. You engage CCC only when you are truly ready to get down to work, perhaps when you've tried other approaches over a long period of time, without getting the results you desire. Despite your best efforts, you remain stuck or unclear as to how to proceed. CCC gets you unstuck and moving again.
CoCreating Clarity is much more than facilitation. Other than brief, concise, and focused note-taking, there are no facilitation tools or methodologies employed. No PowerPoint presentations, no models to understand, no books to read first, and no workbooks or processes to follow.
If and when anything is needed, it arises naturally from our dialogue, and is obvious to all. This rather organic process works in large part due to the unique synthesis I bring, of almost forty years surviving and thriving as an engineer, manager, educator, innovator, catalyst, researcher, community-builder, cross-cultural bridger, peace-maker, daughter, sister, wife, mother, neighbor and friend. And in larger part due to the crystalline clarity I offer as a seasoned Thinking Partner.

Yes and No! Mediators specialize in conflict resolution. Mediators are trained to operate in a specific field, for example community mediation and mediation within the justice system. Mediators typically work with two parties who are in direct conflict or in some form of disagreement with each other, and are unable to reach a solution by themselves.

You may well engage CoCreating Clarity when you have a conflict or disagreement in any environment, or a situation that seems to be at an impasse. The focus of the work in this case is to see the conflict clearly, recover the energy wasted on blame, and put it towards recognizing your part in it, and discovering the actions you can take. However situations of discord are merely one example of where CoCreating Clarity is extremely effective. You would equally schedule a CCC consult when you want to overcome inertia, step on the gas, get unstuck, or perhaps simply break out of old routines and open up new possibilities.
Nevertheless, one of the areas in which CoCreating Clarity is very effective, is that of surfacing destructive assumptions and judgments. With willingness, this new awareness enables you to discard unproductive actions and stand-offs, discover new options, and focus your energy more fully on creating the results you truly desire.
The outcome of a CCC consult is that you know and own the various choices you have available to you. You may still choose not to act, but now you accept the consequences, and no longer spend a lot of energy blaming others. You are aware of what you are choosing, and therein lies the freedom in any moment to choose again!
"Clarity means never having to say 'It's their fault!' "

Yes and No! You would typically go for counseling to a faith leader in your chosen religion or place of worship. Such counseling would follow the central tenets and beliefs of your chosen faith.
|
There is no organized religion in this work; I am not an ordained minister nor am I any kind of formally designated faith leader. Yet a foundational principle of CoCreating Clarity is the lived certainty of our innate wisdom, wholeness and connectedness as human beings. From years of experience and research, I know beyond a doubt, that amazing things are possible when two or more people simply decide to join, without artifice, and with common intent. It takes willingness, preparation and great commitment. In CoCreating Clarity, together we have access to a collective intelligence and spiritual wisdom more vast than any one person could possibly imagine, or hope to access on their own.
In a CoCreating Clarity consult, you may well for the first time experience the depth of your own clarity. Calling on our natural ability to cocreate in community and dialogue, we deliberately let our defenses fall away, and promptly discover new answers in the clear space that opens up in the middle. That's probably more than you needed to know, and more than I needed to say … so we'll leave it at that.

CoCreating Clarity offers fun, interactive and energizing workshops about once or twice a month. These two-hour workshops usually range in size from 4 to 6 participants, and the focus of each may vary according to expressed interests:
- Personal challenge or issue
- Life transition issue especially for women
- Family-related challenge or issue
- Work or workplace-related challenge or issue
The workshops are designed to introduce you to CoCreating Clarity and start you in the direction of the results you want. Schedule a regular consult to deepen your awareness, discovery, and choice.
In all cases, participants bring with them to share and begin working through, a specific and current challenge or issue — a new opportunity, an important decision, a conflict, or something that they are stuck on perhaps, and frustrated about the lack of progress they're making. Participants must come prepared to dig deep, look squarely at what is actually in front of them, the results they really want for themselves, and what may be holding them back.
During the workshop, participants have the opportunity to begin to work through their own issue as they participate in an example or two that will be the focus of the whole group. They leave with some practice, and with the choice to keep moving one step at a time, discovering new options along the way, and a new freedom to act.
CoCreating Clarity is the synthesis of some thirty disciplines studied, applied, and developed on-the-job over many years of work in businesses, non-profits, communities and at home. Many of these methodologies discovered, adapted, and introduced (often as an early adopter and pioneer) into companies and communities to meet their various needs, and some currently being explored.
