At Work

For almost 40 years, Chris has worked to develop productive relationships/teams at home, in schools, in communities, in businesses, and in corporations such as Intel, Digital/Compaq/HP, AT&T, Nortel, RSA and AVID. She partners with people in all functions and at all levels — as individuals and in teams — drawing out their highest and best contributions. She has also successfully shared her skills in many diverse cultures and environments including Australia, Canada, Europe, Israel, Malaysia, and Sweden. Her skills as catalyst, model-maker, writer, facilitator, and coach encourage efficient conflict resolution and effective teamwork to produce the needed results.

Prior to becoming an independent consultant in 1997, Chris worked for 24 years at Digital Equipment Corporation. With a BA in Computer Science from Essex University, she began in the UK, designing and developing systems software. In the US as a Consulting Engineer in the Networks Division, Chris introduced innovative approaches to software and systems engineering, drawing on methodologies such as Systems Thinking, Servant Leadership, Future Mapping, and Human Dynamics. Applications included strategy-setting/visioning, product/investment decision-making, project/program management, and multi-function teamwork. All of these produced successful business results for Digital, including innovative product families that continued to generate revenue for many years. She presently serves on the Board of the Human Dynamics Foundation.

Drawing on her varied experience in the corporate world, Chris has co-designed and convened conferences and gatherings at which business leaders have explored their deepest values and how these play out in their decisions and actions at work. She has served as thinking partner and writer for research projects funded by the Fetzer Institute, on the spiritual foundations of Service and of Collective Wisdom. She has also published several articles in Systems Thinking newsletters and books.
